说好的幸福呢
Thursday, October 23, 2008 |7:17 PM

thinking of him again

woke up on sat morning to read this on the papers:
Crash kills two; car torn into two
The two best friends were supposed to meet another group of friends for a late night's supper at Geylang Road. But they never did.
The car they were driving in slammed into a tree and both buddies were killed.
The horrific accident happened on Oct 16, at around 11.45pm.
The red Subaru WRX was forcefully torn into two - the front end of the car ended up three metres apart from its back half. The car's contents were strewn all over the road.
The car engine also burst into flames but the fire was put out in five minutes, The Straits Times reported.
The impact threw both driver, Mr Kerk Teck Guan, and passenger, Mr Ng Wei Liang, out of the car. It was so great that Mr Kerk's right arm was severed.
Both suffered multiple injuries and died 1 1/2 hours later in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
A Chinese national ,26, who works in the food industry, told Shin Min Daily News that he was nearby making a phone call when he heard the screeching sound of a car braking, followed by a loud bang.
According to Shin Min, he saw the car engine on fire and two men lying on the ground in a pool of blood, next to the car.
The man, who wanted to be known only as Mr Zhang, said that after the accident, he saw a bicycle that stopped by the site of the crash.
Mr Zhang also expressed that he often saw cyclists along that stretch of road.
But he was not sure whether the driver of the car had been trying to avoid the cyclist.
Mr Kerk's uncle also told Shin Min that at the time of the crash, one of his friends had seen a cyclist approaching the same road but against the traffic flow. The friend was following behind in another car.
My first reaction is..to look at the names of the people involved. In fact each time i read about news of accidents on N-S Highway its the same reaction. I look at the names of the people involved. My mind is always afraid that something will happen to him. Especially when i read news that involve Subarus and WRX.

how the financial turmoil have affected me
Sunday, October 12, 2008 |10:29 PM
Just last friday, i read the article that officially Singapore is in recession. For the past weeks, when i pick up the papers daily its financial news hitting the headlines..day after day..banks collapsing, bailouts, reducing interest rates etc. Well fear is gripping everyone as people don't know what to look for in the coming days i read about how traders expecting a huge cut in their bonuses, how families who used to spend lavishly cut down their expenses, how people say they can't always buy their gucci, hermes, prada bags and the list goes on. I always thought what these people mentioned are so cliche till i went shopping yesterday with a friend of mine. Taka was having sale for its card holders so there was a crowd but i felt that the crowd wasn't as much as before. As i moved on to Isetan Scotts and Tangs, *jaws dropped* the situation was bad. in fact should i say the atmosphere was eerie. There was no crowd on a Sat night! *shakes head*
As for me, the measures i've taken are as follows:
1) My bobbie brown blusher is almost running out..went to taka counter but they didn't had the color i wanted so approached CD counter but they also didn't have the one i wanted *sway* right..walked to Tangs to realise they don't have Bobbie Brown counter..luckily i brought along my Isetan voucher and finally i saw my CD blusher that i wanted...it costs $66 dollars so i used my $40 voucher and the rest i paid using my Isetan card which had a 5% rebate better than nothing. :)
my Christian Dior Shimmer
2) today went shopping with charlene again..this girl have so many cards should i be thankful to her.well she is entitled to 15% discount using taka card so today i took my watch belt for a change. Follie Follie already had a 10% discount so but using the taka card have another 15% making it 25% altogether. Original cost - $49 after 25% only $37 a good $12 saved! and best of all my watch belt it now pink and it looks brand new! *smiles*
a brand new look
a clearer view of my watch my bao bei follie follie watch :)
3) finally..i have always been a lover of parfums..i use 7 different parfums for 7 different days and currently my stock is depleting! so its time to replenish. the wise choice would be to purchase it @ shopping centres..coz they have free gifts like pouches etc.but but do i need it?? nono..so the wise choice i made was that i went to Lucky plaza..they have loads of parfum shops..and i got this.. 100ml for $75. i think @ Tangs its selling 100ml for $100+ another good $20+ saved :)
