"sustainability"
Sunday, February 28, 2010 |9:38 PM

Just last week, I was reading an article in a magazine which I receive on a monthly basis due to my membership with CPA Australia and I noticed that in recent publications, there will definitely be an article touching on topics relating to the "green environment" or "building a sustainable environment".

Even the company which I work for is also a "pro-Go green" activist. Staff encouraged to use recycled paper and as much as we can, we should print double-sided. Another active step my company takes is for all the buildings that we own, on the 1st Friday of every month, all except for 1 passenger lift will be shut down and everyone is encouraged to "climb the stairs". So after reading all these articles and working for such a "pro-Go Green" company, how can I not be encouraged to do my part? Thanks to a $5 isetan voucher which expires in a month's tiime and because I happened to be in town yesterday...I bought this.

Minnie Mouse environmental friendly bag. Yes in future, I shall say NO to plastic bags!!

something about "man"
Saturday, February 27, 2010 |3:24 PM

this morning, my brother and I sent out car for servicing at AMK Autopoint. My brother have been there quite a few times while this is my 1st time there. After leaving our cars with the workshop, we both headed down to the coffeeshop for our breakfast and drink. When we reached the 1st floor, my brother couldn't find the coffeeshop (well he's been there a few times but not regular) and he was bringing me around in circles when there are people there he could ask yet he just refuse to ask. At this point, it struck me..
"WHAT IS IT WITH MAN THAT WHEN THEY GET LOST, THEY JUST REFUSE TO ASK PEOPLE FOR DIRECTIONS? INSTEAD, THEY PREFER TO WALK IN CIRCLES AND NAVIGATE TO TRY TO GET TO THE PLACE THEMSELVES?
Seriously, I don't understand. I observed quite a few guys and its all the same. They just refuse to ask people. *scratch head* why?

in less than a month...
|12:52 AM

in less than a month..my nightmare is going to begin. My company's financial year end is coming to a close and it will be the busiest season for the whole year..the fishy auditors are coming in and bombard the accountants with endless questions. working days are going to be extended. leaving office in the wee hours of the morning. weekends are going to be burnt. I always wondered how I managed to get by all these by once being an auditor myself? Oh no..God..slow time down plz...I really don't look forward to a month's time.

Random Thoughts.
Thursday, February 25, 2010 |11:17 PM

Once again, I don't have an exact title to put to this post. So this is going to be very random..many thought running through my mind.
1) After a long while and not meeting a mentor for a prolonged period, I finally met her today. In fact, I met her 2 weeks ago but nothing official. Only till today, it went slightly deeper. In fact, she asked me for a show. She wanted to watch "Nine" while I wanted to watch some romantic movie. Don't ask me why. I guess its probably because I haven't watched a romantic movie for ages and since Feb is a month of "Love" so it just caught me that I wanted to watch shows along this line. We wanted to watch "Valentine's Day" but the timings were bad at every cinema and so we ended up watching this:

2) After the movie, we headed for dinner and finally the time came..In fact, last sunday, I told her something and the reason why I am avoiding certain things. No name mentioned but she could roughly guess who the person I am avoiding is and she asked me if I needed to sit and talk with the person. I didn't give her an answer at that point of time though very much I knew I need to do that. In the end, on my way home, I told her "the flesh is willing but the spirit is weak" and she replied "with God all things are possible." Seriously, I have alot of fear seeing this person that's the reason I am avoiding her coz' I don't know when I am going to "step" on her again...

3) In less than a week's time, I'll be in my real real late 20s. 时间过的好快..it seems not too long ago that I just turn 21 and got my golden key. Now i tell people, I am in my late 20s. What do I want for this birthday? I haven't thought of it.. Serious! To think of it, I have almost everything. Nothing much in lack. One of the good news is this -->my generous mum have written off another $1000 off my car loan and that's above the ang pow that she gives me for my birthday. :) My wish for the year? I dare to admit that I hope to have a soul mate this coming year. ( I know many people are too shy to admit this area of their life) but yes, I admit i hope to have mine this year. It has also been some time since my last relationship ended and I think I am more ready than 2 years back. Do I have anyone in mind? Oh well..YES! But the person probably doesn't realises it. I really hope the person realises it as time passes. He's someone whom I really admire coz' I see the kind of love, passion for God, "drive" in his life, the witty-ness, corny-ness, lameness and the list goes on. So..I really hope God does something in this area.

Chinese New Year 2010 + Hazel's Birthday!
Sunday, February 21, 2010 |6:44 PM

Its almost the end of CNY 2010. Time flies. Its almost the end of February as well. Come March is my birthday and also a month without any public holidays but no worries, I am so looking forward to March coz' Bangkok..Here I come!! Yipee!! Its time for some shopping spree and I've found some dear sponsors. *hiaks hiaks*. Putting aside my upcoming trip, CNY is 1 of my favourite festive season besides Christmas. Oh well, putting the Ang Pows aside (guess how much is my collection this year??) , I love CNY because I get to eat the 2 most favourite cookies-> Pineapple Tarts and the Mini Spring Rolls and of coz its also a time to catch up with my extended family (but then again, the cousins do meet up quite frequently). CNY 2010 is quite good this year because its a super long weekend + I also missed out on my ang pows collection last year due to my late ye-ye's death.

This year, I spent a quiet CNY eve. Decided to stay home instead of heading out and guess what..I ended up helping my parents dye their hair. :) On CNY day 1, we headed out quite late @ about 1130am. Yes, that's late, but we have the luxury of time coz on day 1, we only have 3 houses for visitation. As usual, our 2nd stop is my uncle's house and as usual, we are always the earliest. Waited for about 1/2 an hour before the rest arrived. After some of my cousins got married and have kids, it seems like all the attention during CNY goes to the babies. Unfortunately, this year, we only had 2 toddlers and 1 baby around while the rest of the toddlers are now residing in Hong Kong...So presenting Alayna who was the star @ my uncle's house.

The adults passing her around. No wonder this kind of expression

Everyone says she looks like my late grandma

On the 2nd day of CNY, got a last min invitation to J & J's house and subsequently the group went bowling @ Hougang. The reason why I didn't bowl that night.

Did this on the eve of CNY. This is just the feet. Don't ask me how much I spent.

Guess who is the 1st J & 2nd J? I was "made" to take this because it's once in a blue moon that the 1st J won the 2nd J in a bowling game

The reason why I love CNY

Before all the CNY holidays come to an end, with my UL, we went to my ex shepherd place to celebrate her bday for her. The candles tell you how young she is.

Happy Birthday Hazel!

and she turns the Big 3...

新年快乐!!

恭喜恭喜! Happy Chinese New Year! Right now, we welcome the year of the Tiger as we send Brother Ox away. I am so excited about this year because I foresee lots of happenings. 1 for sure is my upcoming Bangkok trip in March where I will go Shopping! Another exciting thing coming up in May is my Brother's wedding! Yipee! I hope for a nephew soon :p. Well my future sis in law was just telling me earlier on this year it's said that your 桃花运 will be very good. I was laughing because that was funny. As I welcome the year of the tiger, I am also so excited and happy to say this-> the renovation and the mess that I've been living with for the past 3 months is over! Yay! The contractors finally got everything up and I am so proud to showcase my new stuff besides the new wardrobe, study table and tv console. I have these additional things added to my room. Its like having a whole new room altogether. After years of pleading, my mum finally relented and allowed me to paint 1 side of my wall a different color and here you go..its Purple and I am so loving it!

the dreamy purple wall and my bed has shifted position as well

The mirror costs a shocking $300. My mum chose it for me when we went shopping @ IMM. She paid for it as well.

My 32' inch tv not mounted up on to the wall as yet.

The newly installed air con.Product of Toshiba

After receiving all these stuff for my room for Chinese New Year and going shopping for CNY clothing. I was reflecting how blessed I am. As a child of God and as my mum's daughter. Giving me a complete new room and of coz even the shared toilet with my brother is also renovated to the point that we have a super huge mirror, basin and even a rain shower. I must say this renovation spending is extravagant! So today, I was invited by a friend to help volunteer for bring joy to some old folks. The profile of these old folks is that some are single and have nobody to have reunion dinner with. So as volunteers, we prepare food and decorate the place to bring the atmosphere of Chinese New Year to them. I am so glad I went. It was a different way to spend the morning of the eve of Chinese New Year. Something which I felt was much more meaningful. :)

Some of the elderly arrived early

Old folks who contributed to building our country.

Lo Hei! Many of them were very excited to eat this. 心想事成!

After a super busy month in January, I started off Feb on a better note. Being less busy, I was able to enjoy 1 of my favourite past time, which is watching taiwanese drama (those 偶像剧). I heard so much about this particular show on 93.3 and also read on my friend's blogs and finally I took time off to watch it. Started watching just last Sat and by Sunday, I've finished like 10 episodes!! :p

Years ago, when I watched another show 流星花园, i never felt that Vanness Wu was so charming, handsome and "Man" (oh whatever you name it) hahaha..but in this show, I must say I am crazily in love with him..every episode is just getting better and better and he just gets more handsome in the show each time.whahhaha.
