The Christmas of 2009
Friday, December 25, 2009 |10:47 PM

Merry Christmas to all! Currently @ my aunt's place for a family gathering, our usual family tradition on Christmas Day itself. While my other family members are sleeping/playing mahjong, here I am blogging away of the events that took place yesterday. Firstly, my company declared half day for us. Half day means we end work at 1230. But thanks to the budget deadline, till 3+ some of us were slogging away in the office. Thankfully, my avp and manager decided to have a cut-off and by 330pm since our India counterparts weren't ready, we decided to leave. The best thing was that my AVP sent us out to Clementi, so it was easier to get home from there. Reached home, grabbed a 15 mins nap, showered and headed out again.

Met the cg up at Suntec Convention @ 630pm. Our church Xmas service this year was held @ Suntec Convention Centre - Hall 603. The best thing was our unit had quite a number of visitors. But the thing which I was quite upset was the friends whom I invited can't come. :((( most of them either have parties or are not in town. Nonetheless, still got chance one. So here we go to recall the events of Christmas eve 2009.

After the service, the unit had a game which was organised by Frieska, Sophie, Mervin, Shi Hong and led by Jeremy & Yanjie. The game was that Santa has been kidnapped and we were supposed to find him/her. But before we can find him/her, we were suppose to go get food from Chai Chee. So, our group decided to come here--> Bedok 85. After buying the food @ Bedok 85, we then headed to Pasir Ris Costa Sands and got together as a unit to celebrate Christmas. Played some games and had the gift exchange and of course we all ate the food that everyone bought. Soon after, some left the place @ 1+ while others stayed on.

As for myself, i went to sleep @ around 2+ to 3 till I was woken up by some "loud speaking guys" and couldn't continue sleeping anymore. Then I decided to drive home to sleep. Can you believe I woke up @ 4+am and drove all the way from Pasir Ris to Holland Road in a sleepy state? Well I made it home and slept from 5am all the way to 10+ in the morning. Headed out again @ about 12 to my Aunt's place @ Simei, sent my sheep off @ Changi @ 8pm and now i am home..before I K.O. sharing the pictures of Christmas 2009-->

Jingle & Mingle - Group Finance Xmas Gathering
Wednesday, December 23, 2009 |11:53 PM

After being nominated by my bosses about a month ago after some tedious planning which includes looking for sponsorships from our respectives AMs- VPs, collecting money from the respective individuals, encouraging people to participate in the gift exchange, cracking our brains for the various awards that we can present. Finally, the event took place. Thank God that the whole thing went smoothly. Another thing I really want to thank God for is being able to know the rest of the team members better. They are people whom I don't usually have much interaction with in my working role. Its amazing. :). Glad that the event went on smoothly and all the people ate to their heart's delight. In fact, we even had too much food that some of us had to tabao back home. Pictures below as usual..

Anybody saw the clip whereby I had the "pink" hair band. That caused alot of people to 心里不平衡 because I was the only 1 who had it. The reason, during our team planning, it was already the last 1 left and I actually "placed my reservation" for that. That's the good thing about being in the planning team.whahhhaaa

And so this is Christmas...
Sunday, December 20, 2009 |10:58 PM

As this entry is up, its officially 5 days to Christmas. Christmas is the most celebrated season of the year. After facial with my future sis-in-law yesterday, we had a short shopping trip @ 313 and she commented that she really enjoys the atmosphere of Christmas coz its a season of cheer, joy and giving. At that very moment, I almost couldn't control but wanted to tell her, you know why Christmas is so important and who first gave us.

Just last friday, I specially took leave so that I could go shopping for Christmas gifts for friends. This year, mostly bought books for people from SKS. Its a great place to shop for Christian books and there was Christmas Sale as well. So very worth it. The books ranged from parenting to devotional and I specially picked a chinese book for my mum as well. Choosing the Chinese book was real difficult because I realise most of the books are not in simplified Chinese. Another proud purchase is a book on marriage. NOT for myself of course but for my brother and my future sis- in-law. So proud of the purchases this year. Guess what, I spend about SGD90+ on about 5 books all in all.

After the stay @ SKS, I headed to Orchard. It was only like 5pm and the road were JAM PACK! Everywhere was sale, sale and more sale. So alot of consumers are crazy over shopping. I wonder how is the retail sales faring. Walked alone till about 745pm then met the cg for dinner and photo shoot. The pictures below are the results of our photo taking session.

1 of my most adored brand of bags. Not a necessity to own 1 but good to have.

Just opposite Tangs..Thank God for the beautiful lightings.

the most handsome brother in my cg.

myself with the back drop of the crowd that very night.

3 of us. As far as I can remember, this is the only photo with these 2 brothers. Machiam like Bodyguards and Assassins. You know who's the bodyguard and who's the assassin?

know what this is called? its P.O.S.E.R.S!

I found this lovely reindeer with not much people wanted to take a snap shot with her. She's the vain reindeer seated cross legs with mini skirt. Damn hiao! Sitting next to her is a decent me.hoho

Seated with the vain reindeer dreaming..dreaming of a white xmas.

1 of my fav shopping malls. Wisma. In fact I love Istean more than Wisma.

This is the 2nd year of Christmas I'm celebrating with this shepherd. Its been a tremendous year serving with her closely.

The boys that can really sing. Not the Vienna choir though. These boys are from Hwa Chong Institution.

with 3 wise men. Not sure if they are really wise but as far as I know they are suppose to be as long as they are clothed in this. 1 of them got real close..machiam like TKP!

myself with the back drop of orchard and the passer bys

the most mascular man/poser on orchard that very night - 18 Dec 2009

@ the junction of Taka leading to Paragon. The effect of using DSLR is so different!

Adrian looking so 诗情画意

posers again :p

The tree behind is with compliments from Ferreo Rocher. Too bad the "chocolates" ain't real. Else i think it would have been gone by now. But they do look delicious. *drools*

Paragon, nicely litted up @ night. 1 of the most attas shopping places in Singapore.

Joel liked the decor of Paragon. We decided to take the shot @ the Taka side because Paragon was far too squeezy.

Adrian and Mervin with a Christmas tree as their 3rd party. Thanks to Joel but they do look good in the photo yeah!

Ah.. spare me! the soldier in between Mervin and I is the most handsome of the lot liao.

This is one of the silly pictures. Took this outside paragon and these are suppose to be the Roman soldiers. There were 12 of them and Mervin and I were seeing which one looked the best and then we will choose 1 to take a picture with. Then we decided to borrow his accessories to take a funny shot. Wanted to borrow his shield but not allowed so ended up borrowing the sword and this picture came about. Think its quite cute eh?

Using a flower that describes me.
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 |12:05 AM

Was in office today when my facebook actually showed me a notification of what 1 of my friends wrote on my wall. When i went to see her answer, it delighted me. So here is what it is..

In case it's not clear. Its actually a silly game on facebook called "SocialInterview". So my friend happened to be asked this question "If Meiming Wu was a flower, what would he/she be?"

Her answer " She would be a Sunflower. All happy and bright! Totally her."

How true it is. Plus the fact that Sunflower is my favourite flower. Its ever so bright and cheery and brings joy to people. :) Well at least now I know that my life have been 1 that people do see cheer in it. Not one that is lifeless and ever grumbling. For those who want such joyful life, the answer is in 1. That's in Christ. :)

What i do in my car??
Sunday, December 13, 2009 |9:32 PM

Christmas 2009 is 12 days away and Orchard road is all lighted up with Christmas lightings. Reviews have said that this year light up is eh..lousy. While walking with Feli last friday along the stretch of Orchard, she too commented that this year light up is very..eh..cost saving??haha whatever it is. I think I still love it. Oh ya, btw for those who don't know I love bright lights. Like Neon lights, led lights, billboards etc. That's the reason why i love HK, New York, Tokyo. Easily excited by it.haha. So..while driving-> on the way to Plaza Sing to catch a show last night, armed with a camera, I did this..

See my GPS. Thanks to my brother. He bought it from US just before his licence was suspended. So I borrowed it for this past 1 month. So sad that this will have to be returned to him tomorrow! :( with GPS, I will never be lost. Oh ya.see the 2 pairs of Ah gong & Ah ma? Cute anot? It was from the wedding of Jerry & Huifen.

The stretch along Far East. This portion is lighted up with BLUE lights.

One of the latest shopping malls along Orcahrd. The ION Orchard. Till date, I've never ventured about B1. Surprisingly, on a Sat night, the traffic is so smooth sailing.

This is taken @ the junction of Isetan & Tangs.

Ever wondered how i can ever take photos and drive right? Amazed? Just drive slowly lah..The stretch along Taka. This portion is litted in orange lights.

This happens when yours truly is stopped at the traffic light..A picture of myself! Told you all that I'm easily excited by bright lights!

Orange Christmas Tree.

Hanging up there..

This is the part after Cineleisure. This part is lighted up in red lights.

The latest addition to the shopping malls in Orchard. 313 @ Somerset

Santa Claus. The skinny version.

and I wish upon a star..that 2010 will be a better year ahead and my wish come true. *winks*

Last but not least..just before turning into Handy Road. The road leading to PS carpark. A Christmas tree for all of you out there!

Dennis & Ruth's Wedding - 121209
|12:14 AM

Finally!!! It's the last wedding of the year! Yeah can't imagine I've gone through like 5 weddings in less than a month's span. The one that got the ball rolling was Guangan & Xiaoli, followed by Kowee & Sileas, Reynard & Ashley, Jerry & Huifen and today Dennis & Ruth. I guess besides me smiling happily, Dennis is also a happy man because after a long season of singlehood, he finally got into courtship and now marriage. Haha! Dennis is a friend whom I've known ages back..hmzz think since 2003 when I first step into Hope and joined the ushering ministry. Today while the way to the wedding with Shireen, we were saying "Finally! Dennis is married. Probably the people we are going to see at the wedding are all the old timers (the better phase is the older generation)." True enough. Lots of familiar faces. It was also a wedding whereby there were loads of food. :)

The picture speaks for itself. Guangrong is very smart looking lo.

Dennis saying his vow.

Ruth's turn and she said it in Mandarin. It really wasn't easy.

Pastor praying for the couple.

This is the moment..Dennis was waiting for..Kiss the Bride!

Couple signing of the papers

Close up shot. Dennis wish came true.

Announcing->Mr and Mrs Dennis Goh Chun Long

Walking almost to the back

Preparing to walk in officially as Mr & Mrs Goh!

Announcing their walk in as Mr & Mrs Goh

Ruth giving her thank you speech which was quite short and sweet.

while Dennis "whip" out his script and thank many people and talked alot. This is one of the few times I see him talk so much.

and while waiting for our turn for the photo taking.we decided to take some photos of ourselves first. Huiyang & Shireen

Shireen & Myself. We were late for the wedding by only 15 mins and didn't expect it to start so punctually. Ended up the 2 of us walked behind the bride.

We made Lawrence helped us take a photo since we are still waiting in line. Imagine we belong to Group 17! ok that wraps up my wedding for the whole of 2009. Till next year..bye!
