Taiwan revisited (8 June 2010- 12 June 2010) + 3rd CSR in Ascendas
Wednesday, June 23, 2010 |10:58 PM
Back from Taipei for approximately 2 weeks but yet to recover and I mean recovering from the tiredness. Don't know why also. Maybe as one ages, it takes longer to regain the energy. (The weird thing is -> I get my 7 hours of sleep and I ain't very busy at work.) hmzzz..till today I'm liken to a car that's moving in the 1st/2nd gear. Just glad that I ain't moving in the reverse gear :p. Just some updates of the happenings in Taipei and what I have been up to at work and some pictures to share (as usual)...
I didn't take many pictures with my cam this time round because in the group that went together, we had a "professional photographer" and my cam pales in comparison to his attas DSLR. But when no ones looking..i took all these--> Thanks to the early arrival but late check in, the 7 of us were upgraded to business class. Its amazing because despite travelling upteem times for work, I never gotten a chance to land my butt on business class. I told my brother -> Business class is addictive!
They address you by your surname and look->everything is nicely laid out with porcelain glassware. This is just the appetizer.
This is the dessert. Blueberry cheesecake. 1 of my favourite flavour minus the Kiwi!
We arrived in Taipei and I was wondering how come the airport looks so different from the one I've been to the other round and I realised-> there are 2 terminals in the Taoyuan Airport. But who cares, as long as the immigration is fast.
The MRT line which we needed to pass through everyday.
When no one is looking, I will take a quick snap shot of myself. After a whole day of travelling and I don't look too messy. Its an achievement. whahhaaa
Taken @ Danshui. I can't remember who bought quite a few sausages and gave Shireen one. Can you see the hunger and smiles on her face?
Orange juice with green tea. Well..green tea goes with anything, I suppose.

1 of our favourite. In fact, this is our 2nd helping. Mr YJ bought the first round and shared with all of us. Then when we went separate ways, Shireen and I went back to get it as well.

Nice packaging. Pls..they aren't sanitary pads. Just teasers. Chocolates and marshmallows.

Professional lady frying the Oyster egg. But she's super unfriendly coz she didn't allow us to sit @ her stall despite us ordering her food.

The taiwan version has vegetables in it as well. *yummylicious*

While we were waiting to cross the road and happen to see this. This approach of using this guy as the safety man is much safer than what we have in Singapore.

Finally managed to visit Mr J's restaurant this time round after hearing so much of it. Nice orange sofa. But guess where it is placed?

As usual. A snap shot @ Mr J restaurant

周董 with I don't know who are the rest in this picture. But he does look handsome.

I was trying so hard to snap a picture with this but couldnt do it. Thanks to WL and he helped me!

the decorations inside the restaurant

cute but vulgar though

these are found at the cashier's table.

More memorabilia of Jay Chow.

everything is about Jay!

Intruder spotted! For those who have been there, have you ever wondered what's a Betty Boop doing in Mr J restaurant?

Paintings and much more.

I lurve looking at restaurants wine bar.

my order if i didn't remember wrong its Seafood cream pasta rice.

Special order by Jinghe and Robert. Limited to 10 sets per day.

Usual me. I can't finish my portion again.
We were "stuck" in the restaurant for more than 2 hours. Thanks to the unfriendly rain that came. But I promised the next time round I visit Taipei, I will go to the other one which was a spin off from his movie 不能说的秘密。

Tickets to Keelung and 九份。 which we managed to go on the 2nd last day. The ride to 九份 as usual was very hard on me. But fortunately this time, i brought my motion sickness pills.

the "keelung" hollywood sign spotted.

having our lunchie @ 九份. From what I know, the Fuzhou Fishballs are known to be famous. But which stall? *beats me*

The train station while we were waiting to go back Taipei. Does it remind you of the Tanjong Pagar one?
Finally, on the last day, Shireen and I had our free time and i happily requested for her to join me at the "Hello Kitty Sweets Restaurant". We took cab there which was kind of easy to find. But the bad thing of it is that, the restaurant is so popular that we weren't able to secure any seats. Ended up with a takeaway (better than nothing) and some quick snaps of the place.

Its so outstanding that it's hard to miss.

*bling bling* and its pink. Lagi attention grabbing

the counter. everything is just filled with Hello Kitty.

cakes and more cakes.

can i have 1 for my birthday next year when i hit my big 3?

I seriously think Singapore should have such a shop as well. Confirm will make $$.

Just before we left, this is what the shop is from the outside. *cute*
The 7 of us headed for the airport and to my disappointment, we were allocated economy class. But thankfully, I was seated by the aisle. *phew* remember I mentioned earlier that I bought a take away from the Hello Kitty shop? Here it is-->

The packaging and my meal on board the flight.

Tiramisu cake. yummy. but with a cracked kitty face.

Economy food compared Business. What a vast difference. Well the prices you are paying for says so.

Before taking a nap, the sunset. Bye Taipei.
Upon being back in office after the holiday, our department had our CSR. This time no longer with Lions Befrienders but with 2 homes -> Melrose Home and Henderson Student Care Centre. This is my 3rd CSR since I joined Ascendas and I really enjoyed this one. Though it was much more tiring because we brought a bunch of kids out and they were like hyperactive.

The kid I was allocated to. The experience of being a full time nanny for a day.
