Christmas 2010:
Christmas 2010 came in a blink of my eye. Today's already boxing day and its almost ending soon. While approaching Christmas this year, I had mixed feelings in me. As some of you have already known, I am making a career switch come January 2011. 2 years plus ago, I bade farewell to the auditing line and made a switch to be an accountant. However, at that point in time, I didn't really feel much because I was still in the finance line. But come January 2011, I will be making a complete switch which is to become a recruitment consultant (which is sales). As I approach what is ahead, I am filled with anxiety as well as excitement. What is ahead for me? How will it be like? From a boring accountant talking to the balance sheet and income statement and the endless, ever changing accounting standards to talking to real people, doing their profiling and consulting them on their career development.
Another reason for having mixed feelings about this year Christmas is that I will be leaving my current company which I really enjoyed working there. My bosses have all been very nice to me, taught me alot and of course the company's benefits and culture is very good as well. So there is this 依依不舍 feeling lingering in me. Yet I have to make a move because I really want to move out of my current life station and move on to another stage of my life. After being in 1 stage for such a long time, I am feeling stagnant and change is a MUST. So Christmas this year, I spent it quite differently from the previous years..but some traditions still hold the same and here they are:
Christmas Party in the O:
Presents collected and waiting to be transported over to the conference room.
1st Christmas present from my colleague - Jacqueline
I was one of the first to arrive at the conference room and these are the party hats lined up nicely waiting for us to pick them.
All the presents neatly displayed. Whose who's?
This year, my department had a Christmas lunch instead of our usual tea break and the organising committee actually catered food for us from Purple Sage and it cost $38 per pax!!
Ricotta Cheese Tortellini
(Served with a flavourful Nepolitan Stew)
On the left: Oven Roasted Turkey Breast with Sweet Cranberry Sauce
On the right: Fragant Rice infused with Cinnamon and Dried Raisins
Cherries!! I love it plus a box of chocolates from Marks and Spencer
Mini Assorted French Pastries - which are in fact cheese cakes and brownies
My last Christmas in Ascendas. 有点舍不得。。。It's Evelyn, me and Ley San.
Boh Lin - My mentor
Our group played taboo and we won! 10 of us and each one of us got a 10 dollars voucher. Happy me, Evelyn and Cheryl
Presents from Kai Sing (which is 20 dollars voucher from Crabtree & Evelyn), Jacqueline and cookies from Yaowei. My 10 dollars voucher which I've won!!
Then on the eve of Christmas, my company had our Christmas Buffet lunch and also it's "Bring your kids to work" day. Be so amazed cause a total of 120 kids came and my friend, Evelyn brought her 7 month old baby - Adele!!
Aunty with Adele. Carried her to our reception area and took a photo with her.
When i approached my table on the morning of Christmas Eve, I was greeted with loads of presents! Thanks to all who gave it to me!! :)
If you all feel that I've received alot..you haven't seen one that is much more 夸张。。。
My manager's table is totally flooded with presents!! This is what I call 夸张!!!
In the evening on the eve:
Christmas service was held on Christmas eve this year and as usual it was at Suntec Convention Centre. The sisters in the cg reached early, had our dinner and while waiting for Jeremy and Joel, we took photos!
1 photo will never be enough. So another 1 for you all.
The cast for this year Christmas service drama. - Love storey
Joel was so happy that she could finally come out for a few hours after being confined at home for almost a month since Jeroi's birth.
Some of our cg sisters with Zing..our lovely sister from another cg
This year for Christmas, I wanted to 打破传统 and do something different. Afterall, I haven't club for a long time and so this year, I agreed to go CLUBBING! Yeah..i usually dislike crowds and knowing that it will be very crowded during all these special occassions. But I decided to JUST DO IT! So..this 2010 Christmas, with my brother, sis in law and James..we proceeded to Clarke Quay..and ended up at Shanghai Dollies (one of the latest joints)
I like the performances at Shanghai Dollies..they sing cantonese songs and also the song -夜上海
Ling told me this is the 1st time she clubbed with my brother . They never club together even though they were pak tor-ing..
I like this guy's idea..writing on the Ipad.
